The Landscaping Supervisor will maintain all park grounds including the campground. Supervisors are responsible for hiring, scheduling, daily break rotation and documentation. This is a full-time position at Lake Compounce located in Bristol, CT.

Position OverviewThe Landscaping Supervisor will maintain all park grounds including the campground. Supervisors are responsible for hiring, scheduling, daily break rotation and documentation. This is a full-time position at Lake Compounce located in Bristol, CT.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage a grounds staff of 15+ and re-assigns daily tasks and projects as needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness of all trash cans throughout the park and/or campground
• Maintain park lawn areas by mowing and trimming
• Leaf and branch removal as necessary
• Cleaning campsites
• Emptying fire pits
• Watering grass/flowers
• Weeding landscaped areas
• Develop approved schedules
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

Recommended Skills

• Minimum 3 years relevant landscaping experience, amusem*nt park grounds experience preferred.
• Must be able to operate trade equipment and make repairs on the park following the company’s policies and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of pest management and basic lawn maintenance.
• Strong work ethic, problem solving, time management, attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills including proper grammar for written and verbal communications.

Physical Requirements

• Requires standing for long periods and walking long distances within the park.
• Exposure to the variable outside and inside temperatures, including high heat and cold temperatures.
• Exposure to high noise levels resulting from the rides and power equipment.
• Must be able to carry, push, pull, lift, hold objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to operate various vehicles, including forklifts, cars, and trucks

Education

• High school diploma / GED, 2 Year Vocational or 4 Year Degree preferred.
• 3 Years or more in related field or some combination of experience and education.
• Commercial pesticide license preferred

Speech

• Critical. One-on-One conversation and communication with guests and staff, speak with guests, vendors, peers and clients by phone, radio or other device

Availability

• Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, is required.
• This is not a remote position
