There are never enough Nobus, so we now have a new one who fits under the “gender unknown” category. As an AoE Buster Avenger, Demon King Nobunaga (Avenger), who shall from now on just be called “Big Nobu” burns through all Rulers in their wake… at least when there is a wave of multiple Rulers to take care of.

Big Nobu is primarily a damage dealer, and a selfish one at that. They primarily work by gaining Attack power via Can’t Be Helped A- and then unleashing it on turn three. Another advantage comes in their Noble Phantasm, which strips defensive buffs first and make it unavoidable, and especially painful against Divine enemies. Lastly, they do have fairly good NP Gain with both a charge on Demon King of the Seventh Heaven EX and good passives.

That said, Big Nobu does not find much practical usage. They are classed as an Avenger, which means their primary advantage comes against Rulers. They have an AoE Noble Phantasm as well, and there are rarely situations in the game where a Master faces multiple Rulers at once. That, combined with no passives and only one damage buff, leads to low damage overall. Their survivability is also in question as, while they have a 1-turn invincibility from It Is But a Dream B+, they take Burn damage from their skills and are saddled with low HP. They also provide nothing to the party in most cases, even taking away defensive resistance.

Big Nobu will one day shine as bright as the heavens thanks to their brother and bring enemies to their knees. For now, they mainly turn fields into fire and attack Rulers, albeit with unparalleled style.

As a primarily selfish damage dealer, Big Nobu’s skills revolve around increasing damage and availability of Noble Phantasms. Masters primarily will want to work on improving the Noble Phantasm-centric part of their kit before the damage part, given their NP is the largest burst of damage they are capable of providing.

• Can’t be helped A- is Big Nobu’s primary damage boost, increasing attack each turn for up to three turns. A Master wanting to use Big Nobu would pop this on turn 1 with the intention of using them on turn 3 against a final wave. However, it comes at a huge durability cost of 1000 HP per turn for the three turns. While it does turn the field into a Burning field, it is nothing more than cosmetic until their rank up quest, and few other Servants receive bonuses on the Burning field type. Level this second as high as materials allow.
• It Is But a Dream B gives Big Nobu a turn of invincibility and buff removal resistance, which is helpful against those who would remove their first skill’s buff, or against NPs that remove buffs before applying damage. However, these effects are few and far between, and the invincibility effect, which is arguably the more important of the two, does not change with skill levels aside from cooldown.. Level this last, if at all.
• Demon King of the Sixth Heaven EX creates a handful of stars each turn and provides a 20% NP gauge charge. Like most, NP gauge charges are incredibly useful to unleash major damage when needed. Level this first and to the max as the charge gained scales by level.

Like most damage dealers, Big Nobu’s Craft Essences are a balance of starting gauge and damage. One may want to gain early access to Noble Phantasms with Starting NP Gauge CEs. Alternatively, one may wish to reach higher levels of damage with Noble Phantasm Damage CEs. Or, one may want a mix of both with a Starting NP Gauge / Damage CE.

• Kaleidoscope / The Imaginary Element / Dragon’s Meridian: By providing NP Gauge at the start of battle, Big Nobu will have easier access to their Noble Phantasm. The Imaginary Element is more effective than usual here as Big Nobu gains 3.3% gauge per turn via a passive skill, so a MLB Imaginary Element plus a self-charge allows Big Nobu to use their Noble Phantasm by the time turn three rolls around.
• The Black Grail: With appropriate support, Big Nobu can unleash a powerful Noble Phantasm boosted by the strongest damaging CE in the game. This makes their durability even worse, however, due to self-harm from it and the self-burn from her first skill.
• Partake with the King / Starry Knights / Holy Night Supper / Golden Sumo: Boulder Tournament: In general, Buster or NP Strength is better for Nobu than Attack due to the multiplicative strength of differing buff types. These mixed CEs will give Nobu the best of both worlds in terms of early access to Noble Phantasms and increased damage.
