Chip and Joanna Gaines's Most Iconic Home Is on Sale for Less Than $1M (2024)

It’s been an exhilarating year to be a Chip and Joanna Gaines fan. A few months ago, the design duo auctioned off the castle they renovated. Now, the Fixer Upper stars are selling their iconic bed and breakfast located just outside of Waco, Texas—and it’s listed for under $1 million.

Situated in the historic town of McGregor, the property includes two homes that currently operate as vacation rentals: Magnolia House and Carriage House. Both homes were renovated and designed by the power couple during season three of Fixer Upper. Naturally, the interiors boast the duo's signature touch of white shiplap walls throughout. According to the listing, there are seven bedrooms and four bathrooms across the homes. The property is listed by Magnolia Realty for $995,000.

When online reservations for the bed and breakfast’s Magnolia House first opened in 2016, it became an instant success. The rental was booked solid for the following six months. When fall 2017 reservations became available, the vacation rental was booked up after a mere 45 minutes. Currently, the bed and breakfast maintains its Airbnb listings. While the Magnolia House listing shows a nightly rate of $938, there’s no availability to actually book the rental right now. Carriage House, however, is available to book for a two-night minimum stay between October 9 through October 12 at a rate of $600 per night. All of the other dates are unavailable.

It's unclear why the Gaineses have decided to let go of their iconic bed and breakfast. Perhaps it's because they're focused on their new hospitality venture: Hotel 1928, a boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Waco, which is set to open on November 1.
