The 2025 Honda CRF 250- and 450-class race bike lineup for six models—including the new CRF250RWE premium motocrosser—get updates that put them all on the same development page. There are four motocross bikes and two off-road race bikes in the 2025 Honda CRF family, with the CRF450R, CRF450RWE, CRF450RX, CRF250R, and CRF250RX joining the new CRF250RWE. As the six bikes share many attributes, which were introduced at Fox Raceway on the National MX weekend, let’s look at them as the siblings they are.

    1. The 2025 Honda CRF race bikes get a new frame. According to Honda, new components comprise 70 percent of the main frame, with the subframe getting a new mounting point. The torsional rigidity has been enhanced at various parts of the frame, with the front end getting special attention.
    1. With a new frame comes updated suspension. The returning 49mm Showa fork gets new springs, new high-spec Bending Control Valves, seals, and oil with an on smoothing out the action and enhancing consistency. The Showa shock’s new spring, shaft, oil seal, and reservoir are intended to complement the fork changes. Additionally, the linkage is now a one-piece design with a new leverage ratio to decrease bottoming and keep the chassis on an even keel. Honda claims the redesign cuts in half the time required to remove the shock.
    1. The 2025 Honda CRF racing motors get a new airbox, exhaust head, and ECU maps. The header is designed with an eye toward more power from idle to the midrange, with the airbox providing a straighter path for the intake to increase power at high rpm.
    1. With faster bikes comes improved braking. The front brake caliper gets new pistons and seal grooves. According to Honda, this keeps performance consistent as the caliper heats up during a moto. The caliper also gets fancy machined accents.
    1. The RWE models continue to get an impressive list of upgrades. You’ll pay $2300 more for the 2025 Honda CRF250RWE than the R, and $2900 more for the 2025 Honda CRF450RWE than the R. Here is the manifest:
    • Yoshimura R&D exhaust w/ stainless-steel header pipe and titanium muffler
