Overall, planting seeds is pretty simple. After placing down a growing plot, place your seed of choice in your hotbar, and then select it. From here, just hover over the growing plot and plant your seed! Seeds don't need to be watered, so all you have to do now is wait. Now, let's take a quick look at all the seeds available in the game for you to plant.
Updated June 13, 2024 by Jacqueline Zalace: Planting seeds in V Rising is a great way to bring the resources directly to your base. As such, we've updated this guide to have all the seeds available as of the 1.0 launch of the game. Additionally, we've added new sections on growing your own saplings.

- Mourning Lily
- Hell's Clarion Spores
- Ghost Shroom

You will not be able to grow your own Plant Fibre. This is a basic resource that drops when you destroy grass and bushes. If you want more of this resource, you will need to go find more. Luckily, Plant Fibre is pretty abundant in the world.
Where To Find Seeds

The most common way to obtain seeds is by going directly to the plants that they grow from. For example, if you are looking for sunflower seeds, you can head to the Dunley Farmlands and start harvesting some sunflowers. Seeds are not guaranteed to drop, so you may need to do a bit of farming before you find any seeds.
Below, you can check out each area of the map, as well as what seeds can be found there.
Area | Seeds |
---|---|
Farbane Woods | Blood Rose Fire Blossom Snow Flower Mourning Lily (Forgotten Cemetery) Hell's Clarion Spores (Bandit Copper Mine) |
Dunley Farmlands | Blood Rose Mourning Lily (Dunley Monastery) Hell's Clarion Spores (Haunted Iron Mine) Sunflower Cotton |
Silverlight Hills | Blood Rose Snow Flower Sacred Grape |
Cursed Forest | Ghost Shroom Trippy (Shroom) Spore |
Hallowed Mountains | Blood Rose Snow Flower |

If you eat the Trippy Shroom, you can unlock the Oh No! achievement, which requires you to "eat the wrong mushroom".
Can You Loot Seeds?
Like most items in V Rising, you can also loot seeds from chests that you find. In general, you will find the seeds in an area where the plant normally grows. For example, you can find Fire Blossom Seeds in the Farbane Woods. This isn't an efficient method of obtaining seeds, since it primarily relies on RNG.
Keep in mind that chests will respawn after a set amount of time, so you can return to the same area multiple times in search of seeds.
How To Buy Seeds

Seeds can also be purchased from vendors around the map. While exploring, you will find merchant camps; these are areas with merchants that you can buy a variety of goods from. You can safely approach these merchants within the Farbane Woods. They will not attack you unless you attack first.
If you want to buy seeds in other biomes, you will need to disguise yourself as a human; this is unlocked by defeating Bane the Shadowblade (level 50 V Blood carrier).
Each camp will have several vendors, with one of them selling Herbs and Potions. The vendor will have their title displayed above their head, so you can easily locate them.
Below, you can check out each merchant camp. Keep in mind that these merchants will have a rotating stock; if they don't have the seed that you are looking for, then you may have to wait until the shop refreshes. As such, it may take a few refreshes until you see the seed that you want.
Location | Merchant District Name | Currency Used | Possible Seeds To Purchase |
---|---|---|---|
Farbane Woods | Shady Merchants Camp | Copper Coins | Blood Rose Seed Fire Blossom Seed Snow Flower Seed Mourning Lily Seed Hell's Carrion Spores |

Once you have some seeds, you can place them in growing plots. These seeds will not need to be replanted; they will infinitely grow plants for you to harvest. Most of the time, you will harvest the plant, however, you may also harvest more seeds from time to time.
We recommend making a designated 'garden' area of your castle, where you can place all of your seeds. With a garden, you will have all your plants close together, making harvesting simple.
Plots are found in the Growing Plots tab of the Production building menu. For the most part, these don't require too much material. In fact, if you just want a basic pile of dirt, it just requires some Plant Fibre.
Planting Saplings

If you want to plant a sapling, you will need to use a Large Growing Plot. This is found in the Growing Plots menu along with the other plots and requires the following materials.
- 60x Plant Fibre
- 6x Plank
You can put seven seeds in this plot, or just one sapling.
