Who is the ogre guy in Halloweentown? ›

Chester's father was an ogre while his mother was a forest giant making him a cross-breed of both species. He went to the mortal world as a transferred student from "Canada" (a cover-up for Halloweentown) to learn how to live among mortals.

The five of them combined their powers and destroyed Kalabar by using the talisman and saved Halloweentown.

Kalabar (1-2) is a warlock and former boyfriend of Gwen. He is the main antagonist of the first film. Prior to the film, Kalabar is the Mayor of Halloweentown. He is a racist (he hates humans) and dislikes the fact that Gwen left him for a human, yet the Cromwell magic remains as powerful as ever.

In the second movie he is affected by the Gray Spell, but is later turned back into a goblin. He, Marnie, and Aggie run to Gort's to find it clean. He and Marnie then use a time travel spell to try and find Agatha Cromwell's Spellbooks, but to no avail. Later he helps Marnie figure out how to reverse the Gray Spell.

Marnie Piper is Dylan's older sister. The two are polar opposites in almost every way and so unsurprisingly, the two bicker with each other often.

It turns out, as revealed by Halloweentown creator Sheri Singer, Disney and Brown's representatives couldn't agree to a deal for the actor to return. According to Seventeen, Brown bears no ill will toward Paxton about succeeding her as Marnie.

In the first movie, Kalabar teases Sophie by always calling her "Soapy". Sophie shows a greater control of her powers than Marnie. This may be because she is younger, or it may indicate that she is a better witch. Emily Roeske largely withdrew from acting and thus chose not to make an appearance in the final film.

Because Gwen wants to raise her children as humans, she has never allowed them to participate in Halloween, fearing that they may discover their true magical ancestry if they did; thus ruining what should be a happy time of year for her kids, not letting them trick or treat and keeping them home.
