The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this position is to supervise Food Service Workers who are responsible for the sanitation of the kitchen, preparation and serving of meals in a correction facility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience in food production or service for a large scale food service operation.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in food production or service for a large scale food service operationon a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional education in the area of food service management, nutritional care, institutional administration or a related areaon a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required experience.

3.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces militaryservice experience as a non-commissioned officer in Food Preparation and Serving classifications or FoodPreparation and Serving specialty codes in the Food Service fieldof work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following desired qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

  • Experience with reports regarding food service operation
  • Knowledgeable in the food service policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Experience with the inspection of food service facilities, equipment, and operations to evaluate compliance with the standards of sanitation, quality and efficiency.

    • Servpro Certification
