Celebrate Easter Sunday at the 80th annual Dunbar Easter Parade in Fort Myers. The parade will begin at 3 p.m. and start at the four-way intersection of Ford Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The grand marshal is Mrs. Haywood Lee Baskin, affectionately known as “Ms. Pete."According to the Dunbar Festival Committee, Mrs. Baskin is a remarkable figure in the Dunbar Community. Born on Oct. 28, 1923, Mrs. Baskin is the oldest living graduate of Dunbar High School at 100 years old and is a graduate of Dunbar High School's class of 1941. The committee states she is a living legend and her hope is for future generations to stay united and resilient, valuing the opportunity for a good education. She is known as the “Lily-Dilly Lady” for her special pineapple and blue lily dillies, which are famous in the community.
